Voting & Elections in Norway
The City Clerk is in charge of all elections and voting requirements in the City of Norway. The city has one precinct located in the Norway City Hall, 915 Main Street in downtown Norway. Polls open at 6 am and close at 8 pm. You are required to show a valid picture I.D. at the polls prior to voting.
Registering to vote
To register to vote, please bring with you a picture ID in the form of a driver's license or state ID. You need to be registered 30 days prior to an election to be able to vote.
To receive an absentee ballot you must first fill out an application for an absentee voter's ballot. You may call the city clerk and have one mailed to you.
Running for a Norway City Council Seat
The City of Norway Council Petitions form is required to be in nomination for a council seat. A minimum of 25 and maximum of 50 signatures from registered voters from the City of Norway (not the township of Norway) are required to file.
Contact the City of Norway Clerk for required forms and signature information. Please bring your official birth certificate and driver's license.
Norway is in Dickinson County. Dickinson County Courthouse is in Iron Mountain, MI just eight miles west on Hwy US 2.
