Norway Open Air Market Operating Guidelines

All vendors must complete an application listing the type of products to be sold. Products must be grown locally, within 100 miles of Norway, MI (you cannot buy products and sell them at our market). The Market Manager/Committee has the right to reject products that are not locally grown or produced or are not the work of the vendor.

The Norway DDA Market Committee reserves the right to make temporary exceptions to policies and guidelines but not to change the policies and guidelines permanently.

Vendors are required to complete the Letter of Intent application and the Assumption of Risk Agreement, in addition to reading the Open Air Market policies and guidelines.

Loading/Unloading Guidelines

The Open Air Market is in front of City Hall on Main Street. Vendors will load and unload on 10th Avenue. Vendors can begin setting up at 4:30 pm. The market begins at 5:30 pm and runs to 8:00 pm. Vendors are responsible for supplying their own set-ups (tables, chairs, tents, etc.) The Market Manager will assign your spot. After unloading, your vehicle can be parked on 10th Avenue. You cannot sell out of your vehicle.

Food Trucks require a separate permit from the City of Norway.

Market Space

Your market space is approximately 10’x15’ (WxL). The space will be assigned by the Market Manager, and it may be subject to change; however, we will make every effort not to change your location. You may request additional space. Vendors should display products in a clean and attractive way and should minimize safety hazards. All canopies and umbrellas must be completely secured by weights or tie-downs. Please have a clean and inviting booth. Vendors are responsible for cleaning all trash and waste within and around their allotted space.

License, Inspections, and Assumption of Risk Agreement

All vendors are required to secure proper licenses and inspections for their products and to provide this information with the application. The City of Norway/Norway Downtown Development Authority/DDA are not liable for any non-compliance with any federal, state, or local laws, guidelines, or ordinances.

You are responsible for getting the required license and inspections and for knowing the laws regarding the items you are selling.

Non-Compliance With Market Guidelines

Any vendor who blatantly or obviously fails to comply with the market guidelines or negatively affects the market or other vendors will be asked to leave immediately and will not be able to participate in our Market. (Non-compliance shall also include disruption to other vendors and the music, loading and unloading, etc.)

We are all here to have a profitable, rewarding, respectful, friendly, and, most of all, a fun experience.
