True North Outpost (TNO) is a hub for adventure in Dickinson County. On Highway 8 in Norway, Michigan, TNO is located on the former Casonova-Morosini Farm that dates back to the 1890s. in an old building from the former Casanova-Morosini Farm that was built in the 1890s. The site has served as a farmhouse, boarding house and even home to an estranged circus monkey before sitting vacant until Evan Blagec, Austin Kalcec and Nate Alwine brought it back to life in 2018.

At TNO, you can choose your own adventure - from white water rafting, hiking, indoor and outdoor climbing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, and guided paddle trips to customized trip plans. The TNO team strives to offer the safest, most affordable, high-quality outdoor recreation experiences in the area. 

Located near Piers Gorge, TNO offers a world-class white-water rafting experience with highly trained guides that know the river and its rapids. Choose from public or private guided white water rafting trips that feature class III and IV rapids for your group of 7 or fewer. If the rafting trip leaves you wanting more, the 2-day mini expedition offers the exhilaration of rafting and the relaxation of camping.  Seasoned guides will cover every aspect of your trip, from arrival to departure,  ensuring an unforgettable northwoods adventure.

TNO also features the Base Camp Climbing Gym, offering year-round climbing wall access. The gym provides space for the community to boulder and train, as well as relax with fellow climbers. The climbing gym is for all ages and abilities, featuring 12 ft bouldering walls with various degrees of difficulty and 24-hour access for members. You can start with a one-hour pass or jump in with a membership. Party rates are also available for birthdays and school field trips.

Be sure to take extra time at the Outpost to visit the gift shop, which offers everything from camping gear, tools, clothing, snacks, and art and decor from local artists. The 2nd floor of the outpost is home to 8th Avenue Antiques, a beautifully-curated thrift store with timeless pieces. Regret not buying a souvenir? No problem, because TNO has an online store.
